Diploma Track
Upon successful completion of the diploma track, you will receive a certificate from the US Outdoor Council stating that you have passed the minimum requirements to qualify as a certified Master Freshwater Fisherman. In addition, all Diploma credits count toward professional certification tracks.
This diploma track will provide you with a complete Freshwater Fishing program. Students will acquire a foundation of knowledge and skills required to become a Master Freshwater Fisherman, including unique experiences only available within this program.
Learn from the industry’s leading professional fishermen, and glean insights about essential ecology, aquatic studies, and everything necessary for your travel in and out of the wilderness in pursuit of this rewarding sport. Freshwater fishing covers non-tidal rivers, lakes, streams, and other freshwater habitats.
You will also develop and enhance your understanding of the outdoors, learning critical skills such as first aid, orienteering, survival techniques, and how to deal with wildlife and environmental risks.
Gain a better understanding of boat and fishing tactics and learn what’s going on under the boat in regard to biology and habitat so you can better identify, find, and catch your game.

OAU’s curriculum meets all standards of the USOC and completion of this program guarantees certification by USOC and eliminates the need for testing by the USOC.
