Professional Hunting Guide
Professional Certification Track
Upon successful completion of the Professional Certification Track you will get a certificate from the US Outdoor Council stating that you have passed the minimum requirements to qualify as a Certified Professional Hunting Guide.
Have you dreamed of being a professional guide? Successful completion of this program will make it easier to find a job, market yourself, and make more money. You will have an edge on all other guides because you will be qualified to survive, use first aid and emergency response, and understand the basics of running your own business and dealing with clients and partners.
OAU will show you how to start, market, and operate your business. In the advancing technology/consumer age, you will learn how to network with modern tools and technologies to reach a larger market and make more money. Learn to scout, track, and bring in loyal repeat customers.
This Professional Hunting Guide Certification Track will provide you with a complete Hunting Guide program. Students will acquire the foundation of knowledge and skills required to become a Professional Hunting Guide, including unique experiences only available within this program and on-hands training from leading professional hunters.
The course instructors for the Professional Hunting Guide program are leading experts and veteran hunters with years of experience including, but not limited to, and in-depth understanding of whitetail deer, small game, and western big game (Students can specialize in elk, bear, mule deer, antelope, caribou, black-tail, moose, sheep and mountain goat, etc.). Students will learn about the latest understanding in biology, as well as the habits of — and most advanced and effective techniques for stalking, tracking, calling and scouting — the most popular game animals in America.
Whether learning to sight-in and maintain your firearm, build a tree stand, or identify and score your trophy including Dead Scoring (B&C and Safari Club) and Live Scoring, you will gain a complete understanding of all parts of the hunt. Learn how to guesstimate the dead score before you take the shot. Live trophy scoring and age judging helps you get the best deer within your quota.
In addition, learn about the latest and greatest in rifles and ballistics, as well as essentials of Wilderness Survival and First Aid.
